
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Library Media Teacher (LMT) ensures that students become effective users of ideas and information. The LMT helps students acquire an appreciation of literature; works to establish a resource-based learning program in which the students are actively involved in their own learning; and plans collaboratively with classroom teachers to teach subject area content and information
literacy, including a developmentally appropriate research process. The library media program is a model program that seamlessly integrates information literacy, literature and technology into the curriculum.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Valid California Teaching Credential
Valid California Credential authorizing service as a Library Media Teacher
English Learner Authorization (CLAD, SB1969, SB395, or ELA)
Experienced technology user
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

School library experience
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher.
